In Search of Feminism and Identity in Asia 2024

︎ In Search of Feminism and Identity in Asia is a non-judgmental space dedicated to exploring the nuances of feminism and women’s identity within Asian Gen-Z cultures. It features conversations with women from Asia about themes of independence and culture. Each site offers a discussion — an insight into various views on how these women understand, perceive, and respond to feminism and gender inequality. This project aims to detaboo the term “feminism” in Asian culture and attempts to incorporate the physical space representing intimacy into a digital format, empowering Asians to discuss, share, listen and learn about feminism in trusted relationships.

You’ve Made Me Feel Compassion 2022

︎This site-based interactive experience sets the scenario of classmates being attacked and observes how participants react to the situation. The experience explores the transformation of an individual’s journey from outrage to action in response to the Xuzhou Chained Woman Incident. It examines society’s tendency to normalize injustices such as sex trafficking, the personal and collective struggle with empathy burnout, and the discovery of compassion as a more sustainable response. Through a blend of personal narrative, research, and interactive elements, visitors are invited to understand the differences between empathy and compassion, and how the latter can inspire positive social change.
